I'M ASKING ALL DRIVERS: please try to sit down with your insurance people at home and work. are you covered in case you can't work due to injury, sickness or death. what will you do if you can't work due to job injury (don't count on worker's comp) your employer has more ways to no pay your claim than he has trucks. just check out web sites that talk about drivers and worker's comp. man you'll shake your head. drivers all ways ask drivers about where they work as for pay miles etc. but what does that employer do to you if you get hurt. I found out the hard way. Transco lines russellville,ar great place to work I was there 6 years and can't think of any bad things to say about them. like I said I was fired on FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE thats aginst the law but they say fight us we will kill you on your DAC REPORT. well I was always a ATABOY guy for 6 years then I got hurt on the job and bam they turned on me like a bad dream. so dig deep when you check out co"s for jobs. (JB HUNT THE WORSE FROM WHAT I CAN TELL) never worker there and now i'd for sure never work there. thax bedspread 10-10 to everyone:smt084
Dont give up, get you a workmans comp lawyer, I did and sued K and B transportation, they settled out of court with me and I got more than I wanted, but they did the same to me and it is against the law, and as far as robert smith he is a ### sucking jerk, has he fixed his teeth yet? yes I know all about him, big company man whoi couldnt make it as a driver at american freight when they were still in business. good luck and happy suing
Boy, I worked for all the good ones. I worked for TLI from February 2004 to March 2004. I slipped off the step of the truck at the J in N. Platte in Nebraska, bumped my leg pretty good, got one hell of a bruise. Was home about a day later, went to my doc for unrelated issues and they were horrified to see the "bump" which was hard and swollen. They were talking blood clot. Called Safety, told them what happened and was informed, just too bad, I did not report it when it happened. Arkansas law, blah blah blah, got to report within 24 hours....I only got to talk to the log book girl who told me what safety said, he would not take my call. Well, I could not drive, doctors orders, needed to keep off the leg. While I was home started doing some research. There is no law in AR that says you have to report within 24 hours. This was made up by Mr. Safety man. So we proceeded to take truck down there, called him on the lie, and he back pedaled. All of a sudden he produced the right forms. He didn't want to lose us.....You don't take care of me the one time I need you, I go elsewhere and we did. They are just doing whatever they can to get out of paying you. Get a lawyer now. Good luck. Oh yeah, Robert Smith sure is a piece of work. What a jerk.
All these workers comp insurance carriers are the same. They want out as cheap as possible with no regards to you. They use quack doctors that are willing to play their game. Before you all go suing, each state has a state workers comp board that is there to protect the worker. All it takes is one phone call and they will threaten the company and their workers comp insurance carrier with a $10,000 fine or so if you are denied proper medical services. Once you get proper medical treatment, then you contact the lawyer and sue the crap out of them. And Gary if you were fired, you qualify for state unemployment benefits unless you are an O/O that didn't pay in on unemployment taxes. Get down to your local unemployment office. I think AR is around $220/wk. This is one reason I carry short and long term disability insurance on my own. I also have critical care insurance. $10 a week. It'll take care of the bills while you get better and settle with the company.
