I'm all about saving the money, but make sure you don't get sucked into a CDL mill.

CDL mill is a school who's whole purpose is to people in and out as fast as possible. BAD IDEA.

A good school is AT LEAST three weeks long, Monday-Friday.

If you read a lot on this forum you'll learn a lot real fast. There is a lot of bias though. Haha. But if a lot of people are saying it, chances are it's true.

Also, take a look here: http://www.truckschoolsusa.com/EditorsChoice.htm

I don't know if any of them are near you, but those are top-of-the-line schools. Also, to the left there's links you can click on to find trucking schools in your state.

Yeah, I think about everyone around here would like that. The problem I ran into is that nobody will even consider looking at a new Class A holder that does not have at least 1 year Over The Road experience. In looking around locally (Georgia) nobody would consider me and I have 3 years Regional experience a few years back (92-95). Hopefully for you the 15 years will make a difference. Good luck :biggrin_25519:

Yeah in NY that's not at all with ya'lls high cost of living up there. Wish I could find one around that pay scale in Ga. That would be a decent living, wouldn't get me rich but would keep me around here instead of OTR.
