What are some good road items to have ready when i solo out. Im trying to get everything ready so when the time comes to solo out and go home for things its all at home waiting. I'm going to Swift because of the dedicated and regional runs in my area and the benefits they offer for me and my family so please save the negative for someone else please. If you happen to be a swift driver currently please drop some advice or knowledge as i call it for a semi-rookie. :biggrin_25511:

BTW- I will be out of the Lewiston, Idaho Terminal- I hear its a good terminal to be out of.

The packing list is pretty good. Just be prepared to test out anywhere in the country then go out solo for at least a week - without going home first.

Is that what happens at swift. You solo out at any of the terminals and out a week then home?

I don't know how common it is but I was out solo for over a week. When they gave me the truck, they told me it could be up to 6 more weeks before I got home.

I tested out of my home terminal and was home a few days before going out. And theoretically if you haven't been home the 6 weeks or so you have been training, your owed the days anyway (And they don't rollover, you can't take 2 one week then another 2 a week later).

Yeah but theoretically getting home and actually getting home are two very different things.

You get routed to go home, then things change and you end up somewhere else.
