Getting ready to start cdl school but have questions regarding getting my permit in pa

Guys the school I'm look at going to American driver training academy in Delaware wants me to obtain my permit before my first day. Question I have is they told me that they would send me for my medical card but it appears online pa requires a card to take the permit test?

 

Call the school and ask what's going on.

 

Nope. You do not have to have your medical before you take the permit test. When I went to school here in Pittsburgh last year, I did have my permit before I started, but I didn't have to. The school gave the students a day off to get their permits. Then on the first day of class, we all had a drug test. Two failed.
The school also had medical personnel come in and do medicals on us.
So you do not need a medical before the permit test.

 

See that is what the school is telling me, but the dmv is saying a do so I'm not sure.... guess I'll call the state today and attempt to get some clarification.
