We drive for Central, and as things merge/change hubby and were wondering... Do you guys use Trip Pak or Transflo? Are you able to use an App or do you have to use a scanner? Just curious
Transflo or the terminal kiosks. No TripPak, no scanners and no app. The in truck scanners and apps were found to be to unreliable, the volume off errors was just too much. That said, there are some dedicated accounts that use the in truck scanners due to customer requirement.
Shoot... We use Trip Pak and scan from the truck... Was hoping you guys used the same, but able to use the app as well... Sigh
Well it may no be all bad ... if they combine the two systems, then we could both use TranFlo and TripPak ... just about any truck stop has one or the other. Also scanning from the truck provides no real benefit. Swift has accelerated pay. As long as you consistently get your trips scanned within 96 hours of mt, you get paid. Our cut off is midnight on Wednesday. As long as the mt call is by midnight local, you get paid and have 96 hours to get by a place to scan.
The two systems won't be combined, that is for sure. Swift uses TransFlo only, and only from terminals or truck stops that use it. But since all Pilot's, J's and Love's (and a few TA's) use it, it is never hard to find a scanning point. The point about accelerated pay is valid. As long as you are eligible you get paid for the loads you complete before Wednesday at midnight, terminal time, on the next paycheck. 96 hours, 4 days, is not. I have scanned trips later than that and have still been paid correctly for the week the load was completed. Try not to get more than a week behind though. If you do you will be taken off accelerated pay, and then anything not scanned in before Wed midnight will be on the following check. Or whenever you decide to scan it in.
I always do a Macro 47 (Accelerated Pay Eligibility Status) on Monday or Tuesday. It tells me what (if any) trips are missing, then I can be sure to resend those. Also, BOLs can be faxed in. I was talking to a driver who could scan and fax from his truck. The convenience may be worth the few dollars a month that a fax service costs.
Thats what we have now with Trip Pak... That's why I'm hoping we don't loose that. SO much nicer, and since we have all of the originals, and can see what's been sent over, no one can say 'we didn't get that receipt'.
