But I've paid my quarterlies. I live in TN. The officer had me going through all of my paperwork and totally confusing me. Yes, I'm fairly new at the O/O game and not yet totally clear on WHEN exactly all the different fees are due. I know the main ones are IFTA quarterlies, IRP yearly, 2290 and that other one. I know there's one more, been a long day though.

Anyway, I had an IRP receipt/registration from my home state of TN which doesn't expire until June 2019. He said that wasn't good enough and I needed an IFTA receipt????

I was told by another O/O friend of mine today officer was wrong. My IRP registration is tied to IFTA and I can run my 2018 sticker until June 2019 when I re-up my registration and they send me a 2019 sticker good for another year. For me this 2019 sticker would be good for last half of 2019 and first half of 2020.

Does this sound right? I cannot find anywhere on TN's website where you just register for the sticker.

No. So yeah, irp renews based on when you got it. Say June 2018, that renews June 2019. But IFTA runs everybody on the same schedule. By the end of January or February you must have the new decals and new IFTA registration paper with the new extended expiration date. I forget if it’s Jan or feb, but’s it’s before the end of quarter 1 every year.

The state will not automatically send you new stickers even though you file quarterly like your suppose to. Stickers cost like $2. But you must order them, I do it online on the state website, in December or January. When you get the stickers you’ll get the new IFTA registration paper to keep in your otr compliance book. Don’t forget to renew your drug testing program too

I always get mine in December and put them on between Christmas and New Year. Then put the paperwork that comes with it in the glove box.

you should have had a 2019 ifta on truck by feb. no later. so you didnt pay or submit new request for sticker on time. if you know the top 3. then you know when the ifta sticker is due. js

OK then, thanks a lot guys. TN makes this totally confusing. There is NO place on their website that says renew your stickers. I did find the renewal application and will get it done tomorrow. I'm basically guessing about how I need to do it though. TN has improved their website and online IFTA quarterlies are simple now but stuff like this should be explained better.

No, actually I don't, or didn't. First year bro, but since you know it all I'm glad it makes you feel better to be a smart ###. If you read my explanation above you'd see why I assumed I was good until June.

Hopefully you aren’t complaining. I pay my dues way before hand and keep my ducks in a row. Hopefully you learned your lesson and don’t wait till last minute.
