Was wondering if you can carry your gun with you on the road? I know each state has different laws etc and wanted to know what you think.

There are about 4000 threads on this topic. You will now be subject to 300 versions of what other drivers think their interpretation of the laws are, and if your carrier lets you.

Now since I've seen you around the Roehl thread, NO, Roehl does not allow firearms to be carried in their trucks.

I did search and found a great thread from 2007 that ended. Thought laws have changed and there are a lot of newer members here now.

No reason to carry a weapon.....you have a weapon of +/- 80,000lbs......carry a knife or a stun gun and you'll be quite alright

Search, we recently hashed this one out a while back. It got quite heated too. They shut the thread down it got so bad. You can still read the posts, I think.

Most, if not all big carriers will not let you carry guns in their trucks.

Even if they did many receivers do not allow guns on their property, I know even hauling woodchips to Weyerhaeuser there is signage posted as such and that anyone on the premises is subject to search by security.
Lots of freight trucks hauling paper and containers in and out of there too.
Get caught and you are banned permanently from the facility and probably fired from your company.

A good alternative is bear spray, nasty stuff that can knock down a grizzly bear.
It could take down a half dozen gang bangers in one shot from 30 feet away.

Guns nice to have but, it gets to be a hassle if you have to go into Canada. The bear spray is a better option for me.
