Does anyone know which companies to a hair test and which companies do a urine sample test? Will it be problematic if you have a medication you are no longer prescribed or using show up on a test? I am currently on a medication that I will be off of in November. After that I am wanting to get my CDL. I have no other concerns when it comes to this, and I do not use recreational drugs or anything like that. However, I want to steer clear of any avoidable drama.
Keep the pill bottle with your name on it to show that you had a prescription and you will have no problems. Maybe get a doctor's note saying that you no longer are prescribed.
Definately doctors note.. As well as Doctors opinion that if you are off these meds that you wont need to return to them, or if the use of them affects if you can work.
Synthetic opioids (hydrocodone/oxycodone I.E. Vicodin, Norco, Percocet)do not show up on a regular (read BASIC CHEAP) DOT urine test. You should still have your bottle anyway, and don't take them when driving.
The logical thing to do would be call whatever company you plan on trying to hire on with an explain what a going on with your medical situation... Shouldn't need a "list" of who does urine/hair tests.
No it wouldn't really.. they have no interest it.. its not "their test". (I had to edit to say that the hair test in anyone's guess as its all up to the company on what the heck it is they do with those results... you would not be failing a DOT / FMCSR test at that point
The Urine test will be simple.. you go and take the test. If you are on or were on a prescribed medicine, it doesn't really effect anything. If something turns up in your sample. the MRO calls you and you explain what medicines you were prescribed and when. The company doesn't have anything to do with this test. The Hair tests are different and not accepted nor used by the DOT/FMCSR as a test. This is a company thing. I have no idea what the company does for a positive hair follicle test. it may differ in company policies
I tried they told me to call back closer to the date I want to start. I go off them on November so it's a ways away.
