I'm thinking of going to Prime in Springfield, MO. Only problem is I live in Southern California. The idea of riding a Greyhound for 36+ hours is getting to me. Has anyone here ever flown to their training or new job? Do you think the shuttle guys would mind picking me up at the Springfield airport instead of the Greyhound terminal? I'd ask the recruiter but apparently she's out until Monday. Please help!

Oh, and in case anyone wants to comment, I'm fine with riding in a vehicle for 36 hours, as any aspiring trucker should be. It's the riding and sleeping (or at least trying to) in a bus full of unsavory strangers that's freaking me out.

The greyhound ride for me to get to melton was 41 hrs travel time. I spoke to my recruitor and she said they would reimburse me 150.00 if I bought a plane ticket.

I paid 170 for the flight out of west palm beach florida so after 150 reimbursement, it ended up costing 20.00 net to fly for 5 hrs versus 41 hrs in the greydog.

Talk to your recruitor and fly.

    Yes, you can fly out.

They will reimburse you the cost of what the greyhound would have been.

    Best of luck to you.

almost any company will reimburse you the cost up to the bus fare
they dont supply plane tickets because of non refundable tickets and too many no shows for orientation

I live near Mojave, work for a compant in Grinnell Iowa, they flew me from Bakersfied ca to Des Moines IA. Cheeper than Greyhound. As far as PRIME, If they have you going to the hotel, call and ask the hotel if they will pick you up. Greyhound only gets PAID IF YOUR ON THE BUS, THE AIRLINES CHARGE EITHER WAY. (Sorry bout the caps)
