Does anyone have experience working with shippers directly? What was your experience like? I have been doing some research because I think there would possibly be more profit but unsure of the headaches. Does anyone have any info or tips?
Chasing profits? Why do you think working directly always leads to more profits? Oh no tips, it is just like dealing with anyone else, make sure you can follow through with your offered services.
Everyday all day. You shouldn't need tips or tricks of the trade, that's your first major hurdle (yourself). Their are none, get out of bed and win. Best of luck!
I have about 6 direct shippers. All of them want to pay 1 time per month except my rock quarry customer at 2 times per month. Every shipment is less than 250 miles and pays between $600 to $1000 per load. Working direct with shippers you get first in line with loads. Loadboards are leftovers from brokers that couldn't find trucks. Only thing is direct shippers sometimes want to send you everywhere. Make sure you say from the beginning what area you run. For me anywhere up to 250 miles
Brokers have loads and are looking for trucks. Shippers have loads and already have trucks. You have to be able to sell your service.
