What happens if someone wants to run under my Authority? Who pays for what and how does it exactly work?
I would not advise it, as their problems with inspections, logs etc will go on your safety rating. Some take a percentage like 15% and make the lessee pay all liability and cargo insurance costs. Some pay by the mile, mty or loaded plus a fuel surcharge and then the lessor pays the insurance costs, except bobtail and physical damage on the lessees tractor. I still would rather have another person get their authority and insurance and you get a broker's license to broker them the loads and then keep 10% of the revenue.
