I got my CDL at a school a year ago and went with Squire out of Olive Branch MS and I just could not get along with trainer. He made me so nervous I couldn't focus on my driving so I told them I was home sick and left. I would really like to go back to them if possible. Any suggestions on getting back with this company and if you have some suggestions on any other companies that would work with me in and around mississippi? I would appreciate the advise. I really want to drive a truck. Remember it has been a year for me and I only drove at least 3 weeks. thanks alot guys.

What has changed for you since a year ago when your first stint with Knight transportation did not work out? I would look deep within myself to see if this is the best career choice for me. Then you definitely should contact prospective companies and see if any will take you on. Hope all works out for you...

Why didn't you try to get another trainer? Instead of saying your homesick and giving up. You need to figure out if this is something you really want to do because you are going to have to sometimes deal with a lot of people and things you don't like.

You will have to go thru training all over, you do know that don't you?Why do you wanna go back to squire? Is it because they're in MS?If this is your company then call them and do alot of groveling. Many students do just what you did, they quit because they didnt like their trainer. The next tgime if there is a next time that is,don't just up and quit, request a different trainer.I do think Squire will give you a second chance and may be cautious this time around. There are many starter companies but you'll have to leave mississippi.why did you leave trucking for a yr?Did'nt have anything to do ith your trainer did it?

I know I will have to go back through the training and that doesnt bother me, I have had plenty of time to think it through. The trainer I had was pushing me too hard and I dont know why since I had at least 6 weeks to get it and he did not want me to stop and use the bathroom but I had to so I did and the funny thing is after I told the guy I was quiting he started being alot nicer to me. Well after that I then went to McElroys for orientation and it was like a prison so I decided to leave before they put anything on my record which they let me know before continuing that they would do if I chose to go any further. After that I just kind of stayed home and doing odd jobs but now I realize I had it pretty good in the first place . I just have to hang in there if Squire will give me another shot.

There ya go,hang in there.Training is only for a few weeks then you'll be the captain of your own ship.In trucking its everything but peaches and cream.Only a real trucker knows that.So show us all you can be a real trucker and of all things don't be sensitive because you're only hurting yourself by quitting.Companies could care less and won't ask you to come back.

Even if a company doesn't use DAC, they keep a database of their own when it comes to previous employees. They will know whether or not you quit without giving them a notice, so chances are not looking good for you to get back with them. Take this as lesson learned, and don't burn bridges with employers, no matter how 'shady' you think the outfit is.

Good Lord. You went home because your trainer wasn't "nice" to you? God help this country.
