So myself and another vehicle just backed into each other in the parking lot. Still awaiting the MPs for a report.

This is my first accident of any kind. I haven't even started driving yet. How bad is this going to affect me? Am I still hireable? And I just had an informal interview with Superior Carriers and they want me to come on in November. Please any advice?

Well it'll depend on who is found at fault. Basically it'll limit who you can work for significantly. You said you were both backing? Can you describe it?

From the laws here is SC if 2 vehicles are backing both are found at fault. However since it is private property only the collision report and no citations. Not sure about what exactly it means from you.

Were you both actually backing up, or did you notice the other vehicle backing up and then applied your brakes to stop, and then were struck by the other vehicle?

Okay, so you are using the POV as in privately owned vehicle and also MP as military police. Nothing about this will effect you. I am not sure there will even be a point at which this will come up.

Okay crisis diverted. The MPs (Military Police) were going to give us both citations for improper backing but their supervisor said it wasn't necessary. Said that since we were both at fault if there are no injuries we can let the insurance settle it.
One of the witnesses said that we both backed up at the same time and met in the middle. Minor damage to both vehicles. His more than mine as he had a BMW and I had an Expedition. Just a freak accident were we were backing in different directions.
Bottom line is nothing is being reported on my license so I'm good there. His insurance company is not even doing a claim they are just taking care of it. Thanks to everyones input. I was freaking out as I have never had an accident.
