I know what most of you might think in your head or would like to say at the end of the day that I would be the one making the right or wrong decision but I am still here wanting to get some advise from expert drivers that been there and done that.

I have a few choices that has come across I'm not sure who to go to or really what to do.

I have applied to numerous places that I wouldn't imagine not even getting a phone call back from are really calling and giving me a chance.

I will list down a line of what companies I have applied for, and hopefully I can get some fellow heads that still work there or have worked there before in that same line of field, bring some enlightenment.

All of these jobs are local!!!

#1 FeDEX Ground-Line haul Pay is good average 1000-1300 a week good beanies will be pushing doubles working days, BCBS.

#2 Carry Transit-Tanker Pay by percentage Not sure how percentage works as far as I know they keep their trucks in top shape, and have good beanies, hopefully someone that works here can chime in.

#3 H.R Ewell-Tanker Same as Carry don't really know how the pay is but from what I herd they have nothing but pristine trucks, and benefits are really good.

#4 Pin Freight LtL-Dry van, Pay is 16.50 a hour working from 5pm up until 5am with OT after 40 hours and also Saturdays, Horizon BCBS.

#5 Tex union Line haul-Dry van, Pay is 17-18 a hour working only 4 days a week he said I will be working 40 hours in those 4 days promised 2012 freight liners BCBS great beanies.

So far these are my options hopefully someone here could give a brother a outlook on what to choose, what would be the best carrier move?

I have a daughter I need to take care of, and really hoping I could find myself a beautiful gig especially locally.

    Thanks in advance everyone. Peace....Wasp

Ps: I just got a call from another union job driving for mcdonalds pay is about 24 a hour driving local and of course great beanies.

i have no experiance with any of these companies but it is pretty commonly known that FedEX is the 2nd highest paying company......So you might want to keep that in mind.

Pin freight pays less then the rest and you'd be working nights so I would assume you'd see you daughter allot less.

Tex union looks good but personally I would follow the $$$

How about that McDonalds gig paying 24 a hour with weekends if wanted and OT? I would be driving a 48 ft truck but making deliveries to about 4 stops a night. I was told alot of nyc, and Manhattan. Whats your thoughts?

I don't know of any companies "beyond the milky way", if you give us a more precise location, maybe we could offer more options...

Without putting pencil to paper or finger to calculator, it seems to me the difference in money from one position to the next of those you listed isn't significant. Of course, what I consider insignificant someone else may think of as a big deal.

My gut feeling is take the job that will afford you the friendliest schedule to accomodate your family. I have no insider knowledge as I have never worked for any of the companies mentioned. But to me, just as one or two cents per mile is generally negligible when discussing OTR positions, it doesn't sound like there is going to be a great deal of variance in income from one job to the next.

Very nice menu of choices you have. Choose wisely and best of luck to you!
