I am looking at a 1995 International 9900 with a Cat 3406e and a 10spd trans. Just wondering if there are any common problems with this model truck. what are some experiences some of you had with this truck.

And is there any reason I should stay away from any of these stats (year, model, make, engine or trans) or any other reason.

Thanks in advance for any help!

No. Could be a good buy at the right price.

Five grand would be a good number, as long as the engine is in good shape.

Ive seen newer trucks that have little or no maintanece done to them that I would never buy, I also have seen older trucks that an owner op. has cared for and truck has held up really well.
I wouldnt think twice as long as its not beat to death and there are only a few makes I would like to stay away from, this is not one of them.

Cant say anything wrong with a 95. It may be all rebuilt and fresh? You say 10 speed,as long as not the super 10. I drove a 98 in 98 and hated that super 10(had a mind of its own. 5 grand seems cheap to be an owner op with a paid off truck. Keep in mind could be a money pit potentially if stuff goes out on it. And its almost 20 years old so scale masters will probably profile you and want to look at you. Think if trucks allowed in the Peoples Republic of California they may or may not require some kind of emissions add on, but I dont really know.So we'll see if anybody else knows their scoop.Any way good luck. JMO only.

Yes I would need a DPF to go into CA as of January 1st. I looked at it yesterday, it has little air coming out of blow buy tube. Checked at idle and at 1200rpm. Tube has no oil residue. But it seemed noticeably sluggish. What I'm mean is it would not spool hard for several seconds and when it spooled it came on slow. Also it has a rough idle and the check engine light goes on and off every few minutes or so.
Everything else seems good. It needs some minor repairs that are not going to effect its ability to make money.
I think I could get it for about 5-6k

    Cetane+ Thanks this.
