Hey, The Verizon Mifi just had a firmware update. To install the update, you need to connect your mifi to your computer via a usb, problem is when I connect it my computer won't install the drivers as it says I 'need a CD' when the MIFI does not have one. I have to update the firmware because if you don't Verizon logs you off every 5 minutes. Any suggestions on this? There customer service is useless. I have the Verizon MiFi 4G 4510L. Computer is a Dell laptop with Windows Vista.
They usually put the drivers in a memory card mounted and hidden inside the device. When you plug it in, Windows is supposed to pull the drivers out of the usb drive that gets mounted when you plug it in. Don't know if that info helps, but I'm pretty sure that's what's supposed to happen.
Seebs, here is the instructions to update from Verizon. There is a link in there to get the drivers. You need to have Adobe Reader installed in order to view this page. http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/mifi4510l_instructions.pdf Adobe Reader: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Worked. Thank you! Its amazing how hard it is to find help with this thing, the reps know nothing about them.
I got the answer over at evdoforums. If you ever need help with that sort of thing, that's the place to go.
i had an hp laptop with vista and had a few prob lems with the mifi software, then after switching to a dell with windows 7 i hadnt had a problem since. VISTA SUCKS!!!!
