I don't even think i will be able to get into trucking because of my work history. Reading another thread just posted about their friends work history made me think about mine. I'm 38 years old and up until 2014 i worked at a bum ### hotel at the front desk and doing maintenance on the property part time. I don't even know when i started working there but it was in the mid 90s i started. Along with working for him part time i did my own side work electrical, carpentry, handyman jobs. All these years i never registered as a company/contractor because i never made much more then about 12k a year. And working at the hotel it was cash money. Now i'm still doing side work but also the past 5 years or so i have moved in with my mother to help her out she is on disability and has problems.

I don't know what to do all i know is i certainly have the drive (no pun intended) and the work ethic regardless of what my past shows...i work hard and not afraid of hard work.

I just gotta get this employment history situation figured out.

p.s. i have a clean mvr been driving for over 20 years no tickets nothing and no criminal record either

My sister moved in town so she will be helping my mother. Not sure what you are asking about local work?

I don't have a cdl yet and no money to go to a school that's why i want to go to a company cdl school. Also from what i read most local jobs require at least 6 months experience.

You should never put your life on a track based on what somebody else has said or done. So stop listening to what other have done. Just write down what you have done. If they kick it back try another company. If that company rejects you based on you work history then you might looking to change or rewrite the wording. In your case I would recommend going to a CDL school paid for the company you'll be working for. That way you will not waste all that money for school and you'll know more. This is my opinion and what I have seen. You'll never know unless you do it yourself. Good luck.
