I closed the DAT account a few months back. With holidays around the corner I was wondering if rates are starting to go higher.

Do you think rates will peak in winter during snowstorms as usual that might push brokers to book loads ahead of time for higher rates?

I'm staying home tomorrow. The same for Wednesday. I might lose one to two days of work every week because I didn't want to go down $100 per load. I don't know if the broker is bluffing the shipper is bidding. For sure, the load tomorrow was already taken by someone else. But the winter is coming and I don't want to haul for less not knowing what the weather will be since those are booked usually one week in advance.

I don't know why people haul that cheap. And how can they run their equipment to the ground with rates like that. You can only do it for so long until...

OOIDA can't predict anything. They talked about shortage of drivers all the time. Does anyone even read their news? They can only see an inch in front of them. For me they seem to be useless.

Old News. You’ll be surprised how many so NO to cheap freight but still haul as a back haul. It’s been this way since deregulation. You must be new.
