How common are local companies with automatic trucks?

Just wondering if there are some automatic fleets on local jobs or if that's only an OTR thing?

After a year OTR I will have only driven an automatic since passing my cal road test, and I'd rather not go back. Heck, I doubt I would even pass the company road test in a manual.

Does the trucking world have headhunter/ recruiting companies? The last industry I worked in had this, and it was free for the job seeker. I'm pretty much open to living anywhere after OTR. Where are some good hotbeds for local trucking?

Autos are phasing in across the board. Straight trucks more so, but all will. We have 3 manuals left. 2 flat straights and 1 tractor. Our newest tractor is a auto. Depending on the company, you may get a stick just because all the autos are filled by senior guys...

i worked for an LTL company that had some automatics. they can be expensive unless maybe perhaps some sort of deal is made to buy x amount all at once, i don't know.

you may not have an automatic restriction on your CDL, to learn to shift takes time, but it can be done, thing is, what if a great job comes along, but they have sticks? you should try to keep up with shifting

Since you're open to relocating, move to a state with no personal income taxes. I recommend Texas or Nevada. Plenty of local jobs in both states. Yes, there are temp services that hire cdl drivers if you want that. I moved to Las Vegas,Nevada and will give you some ideas for jobs there.
