Be honest here guys, how dangerous is it out there, really? I'm leaving in about a month. I was thinking about joining a karate gym to teach me about self defense, is it worth it? Or should i be worry about other things?
you have greater risk around your house. But I'd still suggest taking a basic general self-defense class. You can never go wrong with it.
The newbie to black belt program in 30 days or less? Just make sure you tell them you are in a hurry and don't have time for that wax on...wax off stuff.
not that bad unless your a female than you will need an anti-trucker bat to smack all the fool male truck drivers that think u want some of what they got! just kidding ok no really get some mace to spray them hound dogs. seriously though i havent been OUT there in several years but when i was out in 06 i never worried and im a lil guy.
It is the same "out there" as a trucker as it is for anyone else. Life is dangerous, it can lead to death.
I'm a 6' 2" 245 lb male and I carry pepper spray. Had a Swift driver throw a club at me one time. Typical fuel island fight.
It not really that bad if you just use Street smart thinking and keep a set of eyes in the back of your head. Watch your back. Do not flash money around, do not go looking for trouble and most of the time it will not come looking for you. But I had gotten into my truck and heard drivers talking about me walking across the parking lot and one driver said If you seen his Ball Cap, you would know, He be ok, Nobody in their right mind would mess with him. (I was wearing a Coast Guard Veteran Ball Cap)
