how do I alley dock with 5 meters in front of me?

Rigjt now i am crooked while backed up to a doc. I have only five meters of space in front of me and about the same to my driver side. Walls on both sides of me up to my cab. I cannot figure how to straighten this thing out.

That's "good training". If it was easy, anyone could do it. All your difficult situations can make you a better driver... or not. The thing to remember is, backing is mostly about the setting-up part, not the backing up part..

Stick with this job for long and you'll find another that's worse.

 

Something is not right with the scenario as you describe it. No way you can be backed up to a dock with a 48-53 foot trailer behind you, walls/trucks on both sides, and with only 5 meters currently available in front of you unless you are on a zero-turn mower.

 

I am not there to see it, but. In the past I have done this by first pulling up until the rear of my trailer is maybe 8 to10 yards past the opening staying close to the opening. Then slide my trailer tandoms to the rear. Turn my wheels hard right assuming you are set up to the drivers side. start backing into the hole as my trailer clears the opening slide my trailer tandums foward. Then continue backing with the space left. This is a hard jackknife watch your tractor.

Apparently you've never been to the post office DC in downtown indy.

 

Federal emission regulations have become so tight now that the industry is welding fifth wheels onto Toyota Prius' and making them haul freight. That is how he was able to back the trailer in like that.
