This may seem like a silly question, but I'm curious as to what you guys typically do when it comes to purchasing stuff.

Say you seriously want that new acoustic guitar from Guitar Center or that rice cooker from Amazon, yet you are thousands of miles away from home.

Do you try and have it shipped to a location you know you are going to be at in a couple of days or something along those lines?
Do you wait until you have hometime so you just have it shipped to your house?

    Let's hear it!

After seeing the Taylor Swift tour convoy drive bye a few years ago, I needed a new box of kleenex. Stopped at the nearest Walmart. Good to go.

    I don't.

If it's not related to trucking and does NOT have a immediate need in that tractor trailer, it's not boughten.

Don't worry, plenty of money is spent once the sleep bill is paid off in a couple of days.

Walmart is your friend, find a truck friendly one and buy things there.

Guitar center parking in a lot of places can barely fit my Prius let alone a truck.

I have ordered stuff from Amazon and had it shipped to a terminal and let the terminal know it was coming. My name and truck number is on each package. Never had any issues doing this.

I believe now you can actually ship amazon stuff to an amazon locker. You can also have it shipped to some fedex and ups stores that is big enough for trucks.

Personally I order stuff a couple days before I know I’ll head home. I find this actually helps me save money as I buy less frivolous things.

Have had something shipped to my main terminal. Guaranteed I’ll make it by there soon.
Otherwise... I have a “personal mailbox”. They will do anything for me. But it costs.
Scan service. Hold onto something till I get home. Ship my mail/package wherever I want.

Why would I want to order anything from Amazon? Plenty of it in the trailer to rummage through for free. It is almost like Christmas you never know what you are going to get. Might be socks, might be a new laptop.
