I need a little input before I call DMV and wait on hold for eternity....lol. I have an O/O that would like to lease on to our authority but says his truck is registered but needs plates. So can we put plates on the truck if we don't own it, or does he have to lease the truck to us? Also he is out of state so do we need to put plates on it from his state? Any help is appreciated!!!

He can put plates in it using your authority numbers.....

All he needs is a copy of the lease usually front and back page is enough.prove of your insurance and 2290.

IFTA can be yours or his.....states don’t have to match.

Go to a lawyer and have a lease contract written to fit your needs, don't copy someone else's.

You need a contact to be legal with both your state and the fmcsa.

Will he be personally responsible for the yearly taxes or does that fall on us since we are located in CT and taxed yearly on our trucks?
