I think I mean steering wheel holders.
Spent Monday in a TS wating for Tuesday unload.
Noticed driver trying to slide tandem, in and out and back and forth many times, so I went to help,
Brakes will not hold good enough to slide so driver has a chock block that is placed a few feet behind tires then locks down brakes and backs in to block to get tandems to slide.
Driver said brakes weren’t very good and carried chock block in truck . Sad

The rest of the story, truck is from Los Angles, woman driver and little English, I was in Manchester TN, she had come over Mont Eagle ior was going too.
if you get a trailer that bad don’t pull it, the life you save may be your own.

That's a legitimate question. Lots if women drivers get flooded by men drivers for issues like this

    If the brakes won't hold.

Adjust them up. Shouldn't be driving around with loose brakes anyways.

those are the parking brakes and sometimes they are out of adjustment enough to not hold sliding the tandems they should be looked at but in a pinch the hand valve should hold enough to slide tandems

Coover and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this.

trucking is full of the i don't care attitude
I've seen trailers needing glad hand seals for months, but drivers are to lazy to change them. even when they use the same equipment daily and there's a box of brand new ones 50 feet away

That's a shame. Seals? Those are easy peasy, takes a minute or so and the benefits are immense.

Now as for the dumb stupid stuff... *raises hand, been there done that. IF any one would trip over how stupid I have been it will be me. ha.

Go work for a company that does D&H at the border. You'll get so good at installing glad hand seals.
