Just checking water...after school and training how hard is it to find a team driver to partner with? I will be looking for 1. About making the $$.

Single 37 female light smoker with no need to be home any particular time. (Don't get the wrong idea). Just what would chances be??

Do u just find a person and apply as a team or shop at whatever company u work for?

what would I be on the look out for in a team driver?

Depending on where you hire, you may not have any say as to whom you drive with. You would be assigned to someone according to your gender and smoking preferences. There are forums and bulletin boards in which you could advertise for a new partner. You could post in here, even.

37, female? I will step out on a limb here and say it won't be too difficult. My advice would be for you to be very careful and extremely selective in the process.

Another precaution... Have your prospective teammate send you a picture of his or her CDL so you can tell if that person is lying about CDL type, endorsements, gender or age. A background check might be worthwhile, too, if you are planning on independent contract driving. Some of these companies only glance at things.

Some maybe all companies have a billboard somewhere by the drivers lounge where drivers put ads on the billboard.I've seen drivers looking for someone to team with. You might wanna look there first.

Is there someone in your class you get along with.. that would be your best bet.. anyone with experience would most likely have to take a cut in pay based on experience

I have teamed as an indie contractor. On a hot streak we could make as much as 1400.00 per driver in a week. When it's slow, we made 300-500. It depends on who you drive for, what kinds of rates you are getting and, of course, load type and miles.

Right now, I am running solo with a guaranteed minimum and bonus rates for HazMat, Expedited and crossing into Canada. No, I am not with K&B.
