Can you tell me the pros and cons of jb hunt I am supposed to talk to a guy about a dedicated account driving for them thanks alot for any info
this is gonna bring on a bunch of haters, But I have been working for JB for 11 years. My opinion Is its a great company with a good support line. I see your looking into a DCS account that's even better. They are very established and as any company if you work you will get the work. A few people on here will claim they know someone or have worked for Jb themselves and down this company. Let them talk their garbage and you look into it yourself. There are a few guys on here that will be honest and upfront on the company. I have been here as I said 11 years, there have been a few bumps in the road but I am still here. Great company if your a family man too. Con's as with any company if you don't work they wont work you.
I too work for JB Hunt. Been with them for 7 years now. I agree with 'will71', there are a lot of truck drivers on here that do not like JB for 1 reason or the other. My only suggestion to you is...YOU are the one that has to decide WHO to drive for...don't let others decide for you. I have been on the 'MidWest Regional' fleet for the past 7 years, assigned to the 'Columbus (OH) to Chicago Loop'. I'm averaging @ 2,000 miles a week, home every 2 weeks (usually home on Friday evening or Sat. morning). Consistant freight and routes. Usually 'pre-planned' on a new load BEFORE I make delivery on current load. In 7 years, have never had a problem with pay check. Insurance plans are good...not the best, but are good. It all depends are where you live, as to what type of 'board/account' is available to you. Good luck on your decision and if you join JB Hunt...welcome aboard.
Don't listen to the haters. Makes a big boy decision based on what you need. I've been on a JB DCS account for 6 months. I wish I did it sooner. Pay has been above advertised average. I think most DCS guys on here will agree with that that. Treated way more than fairly. Ups and downs anywhere you go, but the ups far outway the downs here in my opinion. My supervisors actually seem to give a #####. I really can't think of any cons.... except 62 mph trucks, but with the money going into the bank faster than leaving, I can deal with it.
Thanks for the replies I start oreintation next monday and I am very excited about it, can you tell me what to expect at orientatio in Memphis.
make sure you have any paperwork they might need if they question anything. The first couple days will be paperwork and such, then the physicals and such. I was involved in a fatality accident a few years before I started and they need info on that , I didn't have it with me but I had it at home. I tell all newbs get all your ducks in line before you go. Good luck in orientation.
if your pulse is to high it can disqualify you. you can see what the requirement is and check it yourself.
