I'm picking up a little bit west of Asheville, NC and headed to Chillicothe, OH. I'm wondering if I want to just shoot straight up 23 or if it's worth the extra 50 miles to just take i-75 up. How is that road?
How is US 23 through VA and KY?

I'll have about 20k in the box

If you like the scenic route and it's during daylight hours. I would run it plus the 20k helps. I like seeing new places on the back roads of our great country. All the best & safe travels trucker.

Run 23 .... It's a nice ride, small Truck stops, just as fast. IMO. I run that route often.

u.s. 23 is right up at the very top near Bristol Tennessee if you look up past Bristol Tennessee into Bristol Virginia you will see Abington Virginia.. basically between Johnson City Tennessee off of Interstate 81 it keeps going straight North part of it I guess nowadays you kids would call and i-26 but you keep following it and it goes straight on up through a portion of Virginia to Bland.. it's not many miles but nonetheless it does come through Virginia6wheeler Thanks this.
