Does it count during the tug test and lands on the frame?

Check the connection everytime I hook to a trailer, it takes less than 30 seconds to duck under and verify.

I have, after getting out and checking with flashlight that the jaws were clenched! Just can't really trust your brain sometimes...

Yup. Mine was a warehouse worker. We did the initial tugtest, and visual. Went in for paperwork and during that time somebody thought it was the time to get even with a driver. Fortunately, doing the tug test again kept us from a full drop, but dollying up 42k is a LONG workout.

Never dropped one on the road, but my old Pete, in avatar, had a "sticky" 5th wheel, especially when cold. One frigid Wis. morn, hooked up to an empty container I used to drop at the local truckstop, big hurry, never checked it, took off, BAM, right on the ground. After looking around to make sure nobody saw( today, that would have been a new thread here) I cranked the dollies down, and hit that mother pretty hard, a testament that the pin will not break. I was a bit nervous for the 1st couple turns, however.
