    Hell everybody better know it!!!! Hiw much damage always occurs after a blow out? New mudflap, if a steer blows out, the whole front end, you know.....

    Father of one of my friends had a truck tire blow up next to him. Caused a lot of damage to him.

    I had one blow right after I parked at a casino in AZ one evening, thought a bomb went off it was so loud. I can absolutely see one killing someone

    I had a drive tire blow on me driving in North Carolina. When it blew it sounded like either a shotgun blast or someone banging on a metal trash can!

    thats why 95% of drivers dont even check air pressures--Thump em n go- Plop that butt in the drivers chair with lumbar and go make your dispatch some money.

    I have my compressor set at 122psi of air to tool- I put in the chuck and leave the room until the "Honk Honk " bicycle horn is heard-

    I have seen truck tires take people out and leave them shattered and in bad need of life flight. There is a world class trauma center in Baltimore that has saved a few of them so far.

    The only mechanics who come out of this in a ok shape are those who use special cages to inflate truck tires before putting them on. In my time we would stick a hose into the input and have a smoke listening for the shop compressor to essentially quit. Then take a pressure reading.

    Back in the days of split rims, my grandfather would chain the tire to a tree, hook the air hose to it, and walk away.

    Even a new tire can blow while inflating, best to listen for anything odd, and if you hear something akin to corn popping, run, don't walk, away. Even in a cage, the air pressure blast is deafening and can blow you off your feet and cause impact injuries. Maybe like that dummie.
