I'm looking to live in a state where insurrance for having your own authority won't be as expensive. I think Georgia and Florida are high, however Florida doesn't have state income tax so you save some money right there.

As a new entrant unless you have years of driving experience and a spotless record with great credit score you are gonna be at least 15,000 for comprehensive, general liability, cargo

Keep in mind your credit rating also plays a part in your premium.

My understanding is that Wisconsin is the cheapest state for MC insurance. Everything else in Wisconsin is more expensive, so you need to compare states by insurance and taxes. I know Texas is one of the most expensive for insurance so maybe South Dakota is an option.

I hear 5k a year which sounds low to over 20k a year.

As a new entrant back in 14 mine was $6200/yr in NY. That was with a clean record, great credit and a CDL for 22 years

Yes. I'm am, & my rates have been all over the map. Been with progressive since my new entry MC in 2013. New CDL holder in '13 also with no tickets since '03..

First year running a hotshot (under 34,999lbs in FL $300k is all That's required) was $5k for $300k general liability & $100k cargo.

2014 went to $1 million, & $100k & policy went to $6k per year. It steadily climbed from there, with no tickets or incidents mind you, to $12k for 2018 renewal. Switched trucks to a '93 Freightliner for the 2018 season & it dropped to $6500 for this year. No incidents or claims once again & now they want $7600 for 2019!! ########.. I am shopping quotes as I've have enough of this, & also can't stand that my insurance premiums are funding George Soros & his wicked ways..

35 years old, homeowner, unmarried, mediocre credit score, 2019 being my 7th year in business as a MC/Owner Op..

In GA, I was quoted $15-16k for 2012/2013 Volvo day cabs worth $20k. This was a couple of weeks ago.
