Buying a truck and trailer in Colorado and need to get it home to Nebraska. What do I need to do? I know in Nebraska for a car we got 30days to get registered.
You shouldn't have any problems hauling the trailer with the bill of sale. I've done it twice, cross country. One was a just purchased used POS tanker. The other was 3 brand new flatbeds. I could see one, it wasn't pulling a load. The other was pulling a load sort of. 2 stacked on to 1. Nobody stopped me for paperwork check. The tanker went all the way across 80.
Make sure you have insurance, annual inspection, bill of sale or title copy at least. I took my trailer from FL all the way to UT without problem.
I'd worry more about the truck than trailer but for only a state or two I might just roll it at night as FLD said.
