Step 1: find investors Step 2: don’t actually buy any trucks Michigan man pleads guilty in $40 million trucking Ponzi scheme
Or a southern Califoria one. We got a prospectus last year for a feed lot operation in the Fresno area. Sounded good so we drove down there. No such address, the phone suddenly wouldn't work, nobody in the area...including the local Farm Advisor...had ever heard of the guy. Where the feed lot was supposed to be was a cotton gin. They didn't lnow the guy either. The last place we checked was the Fresno office of the FBI. He was already under indictment for fraud but couldn't be found anywhere. The feed lot prospectus was new to them so I let them keep it. I shoud have known better. The only way to make money in the used cow business is to let a few get run over out on the road by people with good insurance.
That last part was a huge scam by the farmers out by oilfield production. If one would get hit or hurt they would ask for show cow prices. Ha ha The oil companies would end up paying the price so it did not get out and have to deal with the issues. It was a big enough scam that the Boses on the sites would make it well known not to hit any animals. If you did you and your company would not be allowed back on the sites.
