Just looking for advice on how to land a job in another state, most likely a local/ltl job.

    Any advice is welcome,
    Thanks.

That's easy; just move to a new location and apply for a job.
If you're record is clean and can pass a drug test, you'll have a job in a couple of days.
Where are you thinking of relocating to?

If you're already working for an LTL company, can just transfer if the company has a terminal where you want to live.

You'll have to change your cdl to the new state, but that's a simple process, except in California and Illinois.
The only endorsement you'll have to do over is the hazmat.

step 1. click google. step 2. type in ltl job in the state/city. step 3. click search. step 4. click on the one ltl job you like. step 5. click on careers on that ltl company site. step 6. apply to such ltl job. step 7. repeat for other ltl jobs. Good luck. Wish you the best

Thanks! I figured I’d stay in the area for a week, see if theirs any real chance of getting a job and then proceed to relocate for real once a job offer has been made. I’m sure these mega LTL’s wouldn’t have a real problem with me using an out of state cdl for the first month while I get everything settled. I just don’t want to show up to the new city with no job in hand. Seems like here in FL it’s very competitive for an LTL job, I’m fully endorsed and have a clean MVR and yet, nothing.

Still don't know why people think moving is an easy thing to do. Apartment and rental housing are quite scarce in many of the cities with posted jobs. Itinerant blue collar workers competing with ditzy, white-collar comp-sci grads for even just a one-bedroom. So I'd say look for a place with both openings for the trucking job you want and also apartment/rental housing vacancies. At this point, I'm also gunning for Kansas for the first time in my life when it comes to local work since it's one of the few states that the younger millennials and zoomers are generally still avoiding like the plague.

I recommend Texas, Nevada, South Dakota.
You're already in Florida, which I usually also recommend.
No state income taxes in the states I listed.
Choose a city or town and we'll all pitch in and let you know what's available there.
