what do you have to do to run under ones authority? They have their own insurance and do everything, just need to run under my authority.

You will have to have a driver qualification file on the driver(s). They will have to be drug tested and be part of your testing programs. Any inspection violations will hit your CSA score. And you will have to have a contract with them spelling out all the particulars. And I know I missed a lot. Not a simple as it seems.

Use the search Newtrucker. This is posted on here every day. Sorry to tell you but you've got a LOT to learn if this is all you know. Go price insurance and look on here and see what freight rates are these days and then go back to your company job for a few years. Thank me later.

Your authority, you have to carry the insurance, cannot use theirs.

Posts like these make it very obvious some barriers to entry are needed.

With the liability out there today, it is not worth it. Tell them to get their own authority. www.fmcsa.dot.gov 300.00 file insurance and wait 2 weeks. problem solved.
