I don't get using an inverter. People need to take a point -car audio! BATTERY BANKs!

It doesn't have to be this many. Heck I'm about to put one in my truck for my audio system:

I'm a little confused about your point.. No matter how many batteries you hook together you can't make Alternating Current without an inverter..

I guess if you're not running any appliances that require 120V you'll be okay..

Are you trying to tell us, that you can hook several 'dc' batteries together, and end up with 110v ac?

As KENMAR asked, what is your point?

What a waste of good batteries. When you could spring for one of the new 400 watt Delco alternators, and be done with it.

Or...just buy a Honda generator, and drop it in the trunk.

WTF????Back yard engneering at its finest.
Think of how nice of a inverter he could by for the $$$ he will spend on a pallet of batteries.

I worked in electronics for 35 yrs, installed several UPS with float battery back up, in addition having 20+ yrs of using Solar with my RV's. Most panels "18" on one unit, with a 12 battery float. Your post confuses me, son who fed you this information, ugh!
