Should be good heading that way. I-10 is still closed east of Houston. I would suggest that if your company pays tolls, you should jump on the 130 toll road in Georgetown and take that south passed Austin and San Antonio. You'll be one of a very few people on it and you won't be stuck in the nightmare that is Austin and San Antonio traffic. Trust me, it adds 15 miles and saves a couple of hours.
once you get south of austin you will be fine. 35 thru san antonio is a cake walk compared to austin. toll road is pay by mail or ez tag/tx tag
Always try and avoid as much I-35 between Waco and south Austin as possible on holiday weekend days. That said. The toll road is not cheap and many companies frown on its use
true. i had one company tell me that we could use the toll road and then several months down the road, they took $300 out of my check for tolls
My company ask that drivers avoid the toll road around Austin IF probably delays won't be critical to make appointments and potentially lead to HOS problems. We can make the call to go around or not based on known traffic issues. But we're asked to do what is possible to get through Austin during off-peak hours and avoid that bypass if possible and prudent.
