I am looking to get back in to the business after a decade or so away from it.
I have over 20 years and a million or so miles under my belt so experience is not an issue.
The issue is after a 2012 DUI I know have a conditional license apparently.
The condition being that I can't blow anything if ever asked to. Has to be all zeros. No .04
In the restriction box on my CDL it says the number 6 which indicates a conditional license.
Should I even bother trying to get back in the game or are the insurance companies going to not touch me?

Some companies will hire with 3 DUI's.
    Western Express probably hire you.
Probably have to reveal the DUI, but don't go into details.
I wouldn't mention the restriction; just show the CDL and don't talk yourself out of a job.
    Where is your location?

Can you return to court and get that "conditional" thing removed from your license? I don't know, was just wondering. Good luck to you.

Did you ever go to a SAP? Substance abuse professional and get cleared for a return to work? Even a 40 year old dui you will need to do that before you can legally get hired.
Otherwise, like chinatown stated, you can get a job. If you wait 2 years for the dui to get 10 years old, you can get a good job.

It is a Maine headache. Basically it is like auto drivers have to file an SR-22 for uninsured. The head ache is that he is considered an assigned risk. It would probably be easier to get the license in NH. It isnt so much something a doctor can write off on. It is more the history of the driver.

Wish I could be more helpful. Brother in law has it too. Tho he ultimately had to surrender his CDL just to be able to drive.

    Good luck driver.
