My question is what now ? My boss wants to sell me the company .... Basically 1 truck 1 trailer , a 3500 gmc gvwr 13500 and the trailer 44 foot brovo enclosed car trailer 18900 gvwr . I'm over 26gvwr. My real quest is how hard is it to run my own Authority I know what the truck cost to run down the road in just Diesel . My gps keeps track of ifta , I know the insurance is going to be ALOT ii only have a years Experience in this vehicle with my class a .any Guidance would help ..... Option two run under another guys Authority . I know someone that will let me do this he has a 6 car enclosed and has been at if 5 years so that could be a cheaper op for me any thoughts ?
Don't get too eager too take this on just yet. Sounds like you need more knowledge/info. I would want to know how worn out the truck is, the seller's books need to be looked at. You need to make sure you don't absorb his debts, if he has any.
I've taken care of the truck since I started working for him had 10,900 miles on it . It now has 130,200the trailer has about 75,000 miles on it and same thing I've taken care of the trailer. he oes 35,000 on the truck witch is more than its worth bluebook 11,000 on the trailer he's been late on ifta ever since we've been running over 26,000 , and tanks for the interest guys ! I love what I'm doing and would love to keep doing it as far as hauling cars
