dano, i still have the PM's you sent me...by my word, i have said nothing.

i can say to continue going to the school if they allow this, and get some yard time. if you can get some road time as well, you are lucky.

doesn't your school have a placement person to help find a job..??

there has to be some LTL companies near you.....

i had to do a google earth to find Rio Grande, NJ....my god, you live in the appendix of NJ....!!!

you can't even get to Delaware that easily....unless you can swim several miles......

just keep trying, maybe your location (i highly suspect) IS the problem

do you have family that live further north into jersey...??? like around Elizabeth as an example......??? do you realize (probably not) the slew of companies just in Elizabeth alone...????

location right now is i believe hindering you

i don't know what else to tell you, except contemplate moving up north even if a "residential motel" or room/boarding house in some of the more northern parts of the state....

You're alot closer to Philly if it gets that bad. You know there's nothing big coming out of Cape May so you're going to have to look further than just around where you are. Give me a day or so and I'll see if I can find any companies close to you. I'm at EHT so I do know where to look.

How long has it been since you got your CDL?

It took me about 15 minutes to come up with a few right around you. Ryder, Penske listed in the phone book sometimes need drivers to shift their class 8 tractors around. Also listed in the phone book was Con-way,Landstar,Palmisano, and Terranova.

Using Fleet Directory for NJ I came up with a couple in Vineland. Bradway that has entry level drivers and Brunozzi Transfer. NFI is also in Vineland but they list that they need 1 year experience except for military with 6 months active then they take you on through their Transitional Driver Program.

I didn't even go to PA,Pennsauken,or Camden because there's just too many companies.

If you sit back and look for a company then call them and ask are you hiring you stand no chance or very little of hiring on. At least that's the way it was with us. We figured if you couldn't even come in to see us we'll just take the driver that took the time to meet and greet.

You might want to draft up a resume to introduce yourself along with that companies application so you'll have a better chance. Decide what type of work you want to do then go out and visit these places. Go in and talk with them. You might have some problems the way Rerun puts it, I don't know, but going face to face is ALWAYS the better way. Good luck.

your going to have a tuff time if you havent passed the 10 year mark on that DUI. And being out of school is also going to hurt you, your going to have to start knocking on doors and find a small company to get a year in with...
