I'm going to start school in a few months to start trucking so I can get out of this hell hole town of mine. I talked to the lady at the school and she said they can stick me in a job, she said they put every one they can with swift I looked at their site and it sounded great until I came here lol no biggy glade I found this place what I wanted to ask was whats a good comp to drive for? There are so many and I don't know which one I should try and head for. If you don't want to say it on here PM me I would really like to know. I want to see the USA and some day make it to Oregon. I'm lost in all the smoke and lights i'm reading on all these websites. Thank yall for the help. I all ready have my calss B with tank and Haz. what do yall think of Stevens Transport the lady at the school told me they where Evil and even cheated drivers out of 100s of miles of pay..
Haven't heard too much about Stevens, my only contact with them was when I was checking out a lipstick lesbian and her butch partner got pretty riled up about it. I went with Schneider, I had good luck with them.
Oh yea, as far as training, I would choose Schneider over Stevens any day! Stevens is not the worst, but certainly not the best to be sure. Schneider has it's problems but is a far cry from Stevens, IMHO.
Well i'm going to go to a local college for training then they will place me with a job. I was just wondering who pays the most and who lets you go home for more then one day out of a year. but thank you very much for the info I will check out Schneider web site.
Which Trucking Companies would you suggest for student training? I start, or i'm suppose to start training w/PAM tomorrow.. Much Appreciated.
The thing you need to do, instead of asking for random input from drivers, is to figure out what it is that YOU want from a trucking company and then find one that fits those criterion. That's my advice. SWIFT is probably not the best place to start out as a trainee. There are a few companies that do well getting you on your way your first year. Where are you located? Maybe one of them is near you. At any rate, I would advise you to think about what it is that you want to accomplish as a driver (especially your first year, which is the one that counts the most towards making your career). You can literally go anywhere in the country and get a job if you can safely get that first year of experience under your belt.
none of the companies who hire newbies pay dink. you ned a year or two experience before you can even think of transfering out of a training company and ino a good co where you can make decent money
