Illinois skills test questions

Does anyone know the actual measurements/dimensions of the painted lines/areas that are used for the Illinois Skills Test? I already have my Class B and remember being surprised when I took my test by the small margin off error for each point(s) for each test. On Tuesday I am upgrading to a Class A and am renting a truck and would like to practice before the tests but I want to be sure I am doing what is close to the test. Last time I practiced backing into parking spaces and getting as close as I could to garbage cans without hitting them(had cans placed slightly over the line so rear of truck would hit but I could still see the can for guidance), but when I took the tests it was a series of lines I had to get into, which sort of through me off because that wasnt in the book. I guess this is one of the reasons why people pay for the school.


Thanks in advance if anybody knows or can guide me to the information. If not Ill head over to the local testing spot after hours and see if I can measure them myself

 

I don't know the exact measurements but they look to be about 6 inches or so apart.

 

That sounds about right, I would guess. What are you basing this off of? I kind of remember there being 5 lines. The middle line being 0 points and then going higher from there out.

 

I just passed my CDL testing 3 weeks ago so it is all still pretty fresh. The pull-up test is 6-3-0-Fail. The 45 degree back is 6-3-0-6-Fail. The 90 degree turn is 0-4-9-Fail. Hope this helps.

Yeah but it looks shorter when your back up 80 feet of truck and trailer

 

My school said that the 45 back, anything past the zero is a fail. That would be like hitting the building...

and hitting one cone only was a fail. That is what the school told us... Some of which I am finding is not 100% accurate.

Good luck. The key is to be careful but confident!

See if you can find out the route for the road test as well. Pre-driving that, even in a car, will be a big help.

My local DMV had to create a new road test route because the state complained the old one was too long. The new route includes city streets which the truck is technically overweight for.
