I trained with Swift. Swift fired me after about 100,000 miles. They had good reason! I did'nt follow their rules.

I'm not about to say that Swift's rules are perfect, it's just that I couldn't abide by them. But that's me. There's a multitude of new drivers out there that can abide by mega-carrier rules and be sucessful. Mega-carriers are really under the gun these days to satisfy the "whims" of DOT.

Bottom line: If you're a young woman/man hoping to make a go at this trucking business, you've gotta abide by the rules! Then you can move on to a smaller carrier......but you've still got to abide by the rules.

Thanks for being honest about it. It would have been easy to try and make it look like Swift was the bad guy. I don't know why it was hard to follow their rules, unless it was forcing you to team with some weird, nasty, stinking guy. I would then agree those rules need to be broken.

Didn't team with some weird, nasty, stinking guy. My trainer (mentor) was actually a good guy and taught me plenty. Would I team with him? Oh, hell no? But I wouldn't team with anybody 'cept Tom's ol' lady...:biggrin_25525:

Yep, I think my company has a policy against that. First couple of times caught you could get laid-off for up to 6 mos.. :biggrin_25525:

Well, you're not supposed to drive over 62mph...even downhill. I did that.

You can't "cook the (log)books" without getting caught.

You can't bad mouth the company in a trucking forum. I'm not certain that this had anything to do with me getting fired. Doesn't matter. I landed on my feet and I'm tickled ######## to be with the carrier I'm with now.

Why would anyone think of doing that to a company that does so much for their drivers. :biggrin_25521: Obviously SeeWhatIFudgedUpToday doesn't fit into that mold. :biggrin_25513:

Glad you landed on your feet, and happy where you're at.

If you tell the truth and it happens to be negative, is that bad mouthing? You were a company driver, right? Did you sign some kind of contract in which you agreed never to say anything negative about Swift? Or do you mean that if you post something negative here that it will get back to the company and you'll be called on the carpet?

    Glad you're doing well now.
