Any suggestions for Internet on the road, I would like wifi hotspot device I know truck stop sell Internet but that's ezpensive unless u can stay at a Pilot or J and being on toll roads it can be almost inpossiable to find one and that's if it even works 1 I am at now is not working, got AT&T. But they want 10gb that expensive if u watch Netflix.

Need something with unlimited data plan and can use with a Xbox no USB stick only hotspots. Thx

Would you like some whipped cream with a cherry on top, as well?

About the only way you will have anywhere access and decent speeds is to get a mobile broadband, but the data is not unlimited.
Usually 10GB max before you start paying $10 for each additional GB.

Some people tether their phone to their computer, from what I've read.

i use verizon mobile 4g 5GB for 50$ or 10GB for $80 ... i never get over 7 GB a month streaming videos and movies and all that...

i think if you use over 10GB the wheels aren't turning enough and you can't pay for the extras that way

I use Millenicom. $69.99 for unlimited . (Fine print says usage over 50 gigs a month will get investigated.)

Be wary of any unlimited plan you may find. The few that remain will more than likely be phased out by end of 2012 and you may end up with a device/carrier you don't care for or can't use.

I use the mobile wifi device (4G LTE) by ATT and it works great. 4G is good in many locations, mediocre in others, but where you can find LGE it's great. Minimum $50 gets you 5 gig, then $10 for each gig over (so there is no "premium penalty" for going over other than the basic $10 per gig)

All truckstop wifi plans suck. They are essentially "dial-up" speed and hardly ever worth the bother to log into them. So don't waste your money on these. There are phones that provide a "shared internet" (built in wifi radio) where you can share your phone data with your laptop and with little hassle and no wires but there aren't many LGE phones as of Jan 2012 but ATT has several.

    RickG Thanks this.

I use Autonet. It essentially turns the truck into a wifi hotspot. I think the router, install, etc was about $450. The monthly service is $29 for 1gb of data a month. You can pay for more; but I have never needed to.
