    I'm signing on my first driver since 2009 and I'm curious if this is considered a decent rate?

    I'm going to be doing performance bonuses on top of this, but I just wanted to make sure I was being fair.

    Another question;
    What are your requirements and expectations?

    as a driver I always hated my salary changing every single week. It makes it really hard to form a budget without a solid number.

    Since driver retention is my goal, I'm trying to make the drivers life as good as I can.

    Megas have a 103% turnover rate, and pay by the mile.

    two years experience minimum with manual transmission ability. I think asking for drivers who could drive a manual transmission gets me a higher class of driver. And I absolutely hate automatics

    You will also get a higher class of driver if you do a thorough background check of
    Their credit, criminal and driving history.

    and don’t hire any people who have a habit of getting convicted for crimes , and if they can’t obey the traffic laws in their own car, they Probabaly won’t obey them in your big truck either.

    medical bills are a separate issue, , but I wouldn’t hire anyone who can’t manage their own money and has a habit of not paying their bills and loans .
    Not if you’re looking for a
    High class driver .

    I wouldn't hire someone with an at fault, but minor driving offences don't concern me too much.

    I really don't care how their credit is since they will not be handling my finances for me LOL.

    I don't care if they're so bad with money that I need to give them two paychecks a week :) if they take care of my truck and are doing a good job what's it matter to me if creditors are hounding down their back.

    I'm not going to hire any sex criminals, or anyone who worked for CNN since they most likely are a sex criminal..

    But once you've done your time, and depending on the severity, I would hire someone with a felony.
