A hazmat disqualifying offense. I saw the list if disqualified reasons for hazmat and the discharge is none of those things.

You can get hazmat with a dishonorable discharge. Same for TWIC.
It just depends on the specific offence/crime, not the type of discharge.

If you saw the list....and it was a credible DOT list....and it wasn't on there....what makes you want to ask?

Just to be sure. It's not for me although I am sure people will still say that I'm just trying to save face. But my brother in law wants to go local and knows there more hazmat jobs. He has a oth for desertion.

As easy as it is to get out of the services these days legitimately..."desertion" is not only disrespectable and childish...it is unnecessary. In fact; it is so easy now that they don't even hang you or imprison you for desertion---they just discharge you. I would hope the narcissistic piece of garbage NEVER gets a job if I didn't think I'd end up paying for him, his wife, and kids with my taxes.

WOW! I'm speechless. That this even came up as a topic. I wish they would bring back the death penalty for desertion. If he can't handle the military, and just walks away. What will he do to his truck when he feels he can no longer drive?

I was stationed with a few guys that I wished they would go AWOL. I would have donated to the cause. Especially one lieutenant; I threw a chewing gum wrapper at the trash can and missed, so walked over to it and picked it up and put it in the trash can. As I walked off, some jerk yelled, "Hey sailor, get over here." It was a jerk lieutenant. He said, "I saw you litter, what do you think you're doing?" I said, "I missed the trash can, but picked it up and put it in there." He said, "I don't care, you still littered, so you have to walk all over this ship picking up litter." I did what he said, but I'm still PO'd big time about that. That happened on Yankee Station, North of the DMZ just off the coast of North Vietnam. Never could catch him out on a catwalk after dark or in port in Philippines. I guess I'll go to my grave being ticked off at that khaki.
In retrospect, maybe I was just lonely and depressed; missing my ex-Playboy Bunny wife back in San Diego that worked at the Lake Geneva Playboy Club in Wisconsin when we fell in love, missing my girlfriend in Olongapo, Philippines at the Seven Seas Club, and missing my girlfreind in Hong Kong at the White Horse Club. Nothing a little R&R couldn't have cured.
