    BMI is a huge joke.

All it measures is height. NOTHING about body build, petite, husky etc.

For me it sez I should be about 157 lbs. I aint been that light since grade school. I would be happy with 170 to 175 even 180.

BMI is worthless. Michael Jordan was considered obese during his playing days with that index. Wish I could be so obese. :biggrin_2559:

the only thing you should pay attention to see if you re in a healthy range is body fat nothing else, the most fitted man in the world Joe Decker got his bmi done and it showed that he was obese

It is just more "one size fits all" BS, pun fully intended.

I guess they figure that doctors are too stupid to be able to look at somebody and say, "you need to loose some weight," so they come up with BMI guidelines. This is our government, hard at work!:biggrin_25516:

"not a reliable indicator", but yet this magic number will be what they use when they want mandatory testing for sleep apnea.

One size does not fit all, but yet one index will determine things for everyone.
