Is it normal for a driver from one company to recruit a driver from another company?

My daughter had another driver attempt to recruit her. She just started driving for Werner. Has only been driving for a total of about 5 months (not all of it for Werner). This person gave her a card. I know people get bonuses for recruiting a new driver. Just want to know if this is normal.

 

Yes, anyone can recruit for any company. I do it for Free Enterprise profit share Companies. It is part of what we call Capitalism, or the exchange of wealth for wealth and profit.

In your daughters case it is recruiting to make one drivers company wealthier and placing more money in the drivers pocket.

It is Just Business! I would hope she has the sense to stay for one year before moving on though. That way she can look around and get to know the industry better.

 

In trucking if you can get more money for the same work type you are doing at present company,for the same amount of experience and I trusted that driver that tried to recruit me,why would I want to stay any longer at that present company. I can make 10,000 to 20000 more in a year. I would have to be crazy.Companies like werner swift cental transport,us express,are a dime a dozen,you won't gain anything more by stayiny there. You don't need a recruiter be it another driver or company recruiter,if you can find one like roehll,your career would jump start immediately. Find the best job you can,the cheap companies have a high turnaround by folks making better choices than staying for a year or more and wasting your time and money. Just my opinion of course,by staying that year you are enabling these companies to keep paying low rate miles for the work being performed.

 

I would say, go for it if you have the opportunity to move to a great company with much better pay and benefits. However, I would make sure i was pre-qualified prior to quitting a job. It is always better to have a good standing employee record/driving record before moving on. It makes placement easy and no hassles.

 

yes I don't see any reason to stay in a job but deinatly make sure you HAVE the new job before quiting. that unemployed part will get you in trouble if job hoping

 

As most everyone else says, *yes* its about as normal as the sun rising in the east each morning. Some drivers will most certainly get a *finders fee* for when a driver goes to work for them. The *finders fee* may not be too much, but it'll add up with each new recruit that gets hired.
