I do know this, When I took my CDL in MI I was the last one that day No. 4 and was the first one to pass. I wondered about that, because the guy that was before me was a better driver than I!

I passed on my first try in Indianapolis. It felt great too. 2 of the know-it-alls in our class failed. That felt greater!!
I live in Southern Indiana and all the locals would drive up to Vincennes to take their test. They said Evansville would fail everybody the first time.

Being from Indiana and recieving my CDL back in September, that is the silliest thing I have ever heard.

What you do need to realize is that, you are being tested to operate a commercial vehicle, and most examiners are not flexiable when it comes to the tests. You either do it exactly as the standards say or you fail.

Here in Wisconsin, you have to go through a third party tester, as they do not do the CDL road tests at DMV. Never heard of any sort of percentage that will be failed just because. I failed my first road test, but that was my own fault. I retested a week later, and did just fine.
