Is it true most top trucking companies are switching to automatics

    Most Mega Carriers are. Easier to train and retain new drivers. Supposedly better gas mileage and less fatigue on drivers specifically when in the city. Most Mega Carriers will be completely automated except for training purposes so driver doesn't have any restrictions on their CDL. Mom and pop companies for the most part will stick to standard.

    I personally prefer a manual transmission . It gives you better control of the truck .

    Right one more pedal makes you tired you've got problems and if you can drive worth a crap you wont need to use it much in city driving that much either

    As human being born after 1960 I resent that. I can chew gum and walk at the same time, well most days anyway.
