My wife is going to pursue a career in trucking and her desire is to OTR with me as a rider. Our finaces would be tight from everthing that we have learned on the forum here, taking into consideration all the things that can effect the miles available. She is very determined to make this work for us and she is more than willing to support me on this journey. She has already been there for me at a time when we couldn't be together and I just don't feel that I can deny her this opportunity or refuse to share it with her. All this being said, I am still a man and probably more macho than I should be or old fashion! The point is that I really want to help finacially!!! Even if it is in a small way, it would be something!!! If anyone has some ideas I would really appreciate the info. such as legitimate online job or business, or something like that.

Get your CDL and do an equal share.

Lots of Husband / wife teams post on here , and most are doing very good OTR.

Best answer is to get your CDL as well and team, as others have already said. However, there are a lot of things a driver does that can be done by someone else in the truck. Keeping up with Qualcomm, helping with directions, setting tandems - any number of things. When my son rode with me, he did these things, and cooked, etc. as well! It was like having a flight attendant in the truck!

U can drive without a cdl long as your with a cdl licensed driver, not too sure of any co. policy that allows that though.presuming you do have a drivers licence.

    Not hardly.

Operating a CMV without a Valid CDL or permit is not legal.

My school didn't even let us drive on the lot until we got our permits, I thought that was the norm...

    Sure you can:
I don't know about Ontario (where blanks is from), but in Alberta any class of driver's licence, with the exception of classes 6 (motorcycle) and 7 (learner's), permits the driver as a learner in a class 1, so long as they have a class 1 licensed driver with them. Given blanks' post, I assume Ontario is the same.

"U can drive without a cdl long as your with a cdl licensed driver":biggrin_2555: Sure you can , the charge when caught is driving a VEHICLE without the proper license. That followed by termination of employment for whoever allowed you to be driving if your not an employee of the company.
